New York is one of the food capitals of the world, boasting restaurants with any type of cuisine one could possibly imagine craving. That being said, in comparison to how many restaurants there are in this city, there are not many serving Malaysian. We were all pleased with the spicy Asian food. Some shared the Five Spice Pork Roll and the Roast Duck Salad, and we could only drool over the “Laut’s Special Noodles, ” a steamy concoction smothered in rich brown sauce ordered by our neighbor at the next table. There were several vegetarian options, and we decided upon one of the menu's Plates. It came with tofu, mango, onions, and bell peppers with a spicy sweet and sour sauce. The establishment itself is simply decorated with its tin ceiling, chalk drawings of Malaysian scenes, and walls lined with comfortable benches adorned with metal work. The food is served quickly, efficiently and even earned a Michelin star back in 2011.
